Dr Steven Chow serves as the current president of the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia (AMAM) and the represent one of the key founding members of the association. He is also the president of the Federation of  Private Medical Practitioners Associations, Malaysia (FPMPAM). He is a Senior Consultant Dermatologist in private practice based in Kuala Lumpur.

Dato Dr Lim Boon Sho  serves as the current Vice President of  the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia (AMAM). He is also the Vice President of the Federation of Private Medical Practitioners Association of Malaysia (FPMPAM). Dato’ Dr. Lim is a Senior General Practitioner, running a successful GP clinic in Penang and  has   been treating drug addicts for over 45 years. Apart from being the past President of  Private Medical Practitioners Society (PMPS), and a long serving Honorary Treasurer for the Society, he is also the past Penang State Assemblyman.

 

Honorary Secretary
Associate Professor Dr. Anne Yee Hway Ann currently serves as the Honorary Secretary of the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia (AMAM). She currently holds the position of Associate Professor and Clinical Psychiatrist at University of Malaya and University Malaya Medical Center. She is also a member and an active Researcher for University Malaya Center for Addiction Sciences (UMCAS) and Nicotine Addiction Research & Collaborating Center (NARCC).

 

Honorary Treasurer
Major Dr. Jeyaratnam M. Ratnavale currently serves as the Honorary Treasurer for the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia (AMAM). He is a General Practitioner, running a GP clinic in Kampar, Perak, and has been managing Opoid addicts since 2004. Major Dr. Jeyaratnam was the former Chairman of Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) Perak after holding the states offices as Honorary Secretary, He is presently the President of Perak Medical Practitioners Society.

 

Council Member
Dr Norsiah Ali is an exco member of the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia (AMAM). She is a Consultant Family Medicine Specialist (FMS) at the Masjid Tanah Health Clinic in Melaka. She was the former President of the Malaysian Family Medicine Specialist Association. Currently, she is a Council Member for the Academy of Family Physician Malaysia (AFPM) and Head of Sub-specialization Program for Community Addiction Medicine under Ministry of Health (MOH). She is also the principal investigator for ten years evaluation of methadone program (Malaysian Methadone Treatment Outcome Study, MyTOS). Apart from her main duties under MOH, she has been appointed as one of the Board of Visitors for PUSPEN Tampin under AADK and also serves as visiting addiction specialist.

Dr. Shanmuganathan TV Ganeson is an exco member of the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia (AMAM). He is currently the Honorary Secretary of Federation of  Private Medical Practitioners Associations, Malaysia (FPMPAM). Dr Shanmuganathan is a General Practitioner in Kuala Lumpur. He represents FPMPAM on Ministerial bodies like Malaysian Adverse Drug Reactions Advisory Committee and Medical Advertisement Board. He is a Past President of Private Medical Practitioners’ Association of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur (PMPASKL).

 

Council Member
Dr Pushparani Retnam is an exco member of the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia (AMAM).  She has been actively treating opioids addict since 2003 to 2016. She was the President of Hospice Pahang since 2003 to April 2020.Currently is  a volunteer palliative care doctor for  Hospice Pahang, Kuantan.

Dr Pearl Leong is an exco member of the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia (AMAM). She is a General Practitioner who runs her own GP Practice (Pearl’s Clinic of Care) in Sri Hartamas, KL. She was the former President of Private Medical Practitioners’ Association of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur (PMPASKL). She also sits in the committee of the Federation of Private Medical Practioners Association. She volunteers at Free Clinic for the Homeless and Drs4All programme.  Apart from her medical work, she also sits on the Board of Governors of the Senior Methodist Girl School. She have seen the evolvement of the general practice in the last 50 years as she is a second generation general practitioners. Apart from her medical work, she also sits on the Board of Governors of the Senior Methodist Girl School.

Dr. Abdul Rasyid Sulaiman is an exco member of the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia (AMAM). He  currently holds the position of  Senior Lecturer at the International Medical University  and also the Medical Director of the Wave Clinic, Kuala Lumpur. He is a member of  the University Malaya Center for Addiction Sciences (UMCAS) and  former President of Early Career Psychiatrist of the Malaysian Psychiatric Association.

 

Honorary Auditor
Dr Balaeswaran A/L Poobalasingam currently serves as the Honorary Auditor of the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia (AMAM). He specializes in Addiction Medicine and has been treating drug abuse patients in Medical Assisted Therapy since 2002. He currently run his own general practice in Kuala Lumpur.

Dr Shong Chin Min currently serves as the Honorary Auditor of the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia (AMAM). She was invited as one of the founder member of AMAM earlier years. She was also the past President of Private Medical Practitioners’Association of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur (PMPASKL).
